Balance, Strength, Connection.
These are the central principles of Julie Leiken’s approach to Pilates training. Her interest in the power of movement began early in her childhood as a dancer and gymnast. With nearly 25 years of experience as an instructor in the visionary methods of Joseph Pilates, Julie is again opening her neighborhood studio for individual instruction.
After attending the University of Colorado and Colorado State University, she moved to Germany in 1992 and became a dressage trainer. She began her Pilates education in 2000 and returned to the U.S. two years later as a second-level Fletcher-trained instructor.
She began her business that year, combining her training as a Pilates teacher with her dressage training in her equestrian practice. After teaching at both Avanti Therapy and Body Dynamics, she opened her own home studio. Since her initial training, she has studied many Pilates lineages, plus many different types of movement techniques, which she has incorporated into her repertoire.
From beginning students to advanced practitioners, Julie welcomes everyone to find their balance, strength, and connection in her fully equipped home location.

Client Success Stories

“Julie is an encouraging and conscientious Pilates instructor. I have low back issues and she is very thoughtful about showing me modifications and/or supporting me so I am able to get the most benefit possible out of a variety of exercises. She walks the line of pushing me while protecting me. As a rider, she is great about selecting exercises and stretches to keep my body supple and strong in the saddle. She is also fun to be around!”

“I first started Pilates with Julie in the 90s. Her attention to correct alignment, whether on a mat or reformer, has made me aware of where my body is in time and space. Whether on the back of a horse, on skis, or just walking down a trail, pilates has improved my balance, strength, and well-being. It has so many life-long benefits! Julie has a true gift—she is a clear communicator—and can adjust instruction within seconds so you can quickly understand things. She is patient, caring, and a genuine person. These qualities make her an exceptional teacher, equine instructor, and person.”
